Job Description Summary

As a Sr Analyst, Placement - Life, you’ll serve as the liaison for our internal and external field sales associates, underwriting teams, and Financial Professionals to be part of a team that helps drive increased placement of life insurance sales. You will build trusting, lasting relationships with Financial Professionals by working with them to advance their life insurance applications through the cycle of the life insurance sale.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Act as an advocate on behalf of Financial Professionals and Nationwide and serve as a liaison between the two.  

  • Build internal relationships to proactively move cases to completion; working with the field and internal teams to determine what is needed to place the case.  Coordinate with internal teams to obtain updated illustrations as needed. 

  • Build external relationships with Financial Professionals and work directly with them on pending life insurance cases. 

  • Understand the division goals and how sales support helps achieves those goals. Assist the division in reaching goals by using reports to move cases forward and partnering with Underwriting.  

  • Discuss underwriting offers both with the field and Underwriting.  

  • Provide other support as needed while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Nationwide policies, practices and procedures. 

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. 

Reporting Relationships:  Reports to Leader, Placement Coordinator 

Typical Skills and Experiences:  

Education: Undergraduate degree 

License/Certification/Designation: Series 6 license may be required within 120 days of hire. 

  

Experience: Five years in life insurance customer service, sales or sales support role preferred. Strong background with underwriting and/or case management processes and terminology.  

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Strong interpersonal skills to build long-term relationships with sales partners, underwriting partners and producers. Critical thinking.  Ability to look at the whole picture and solution outside the box.  Ability to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in writing. Comfortable and effective on camera during virtual calls. Sales oriented, persuasive and persistent.  Have the ability to understand what is needed by the producers while balancing what is needed from Nationwide. Empathetic to the needs of producers when working to gather underwriting requirements. Able to pivot to alternative products or solutions when presented an unforeseen underwriting offer. Solid understanding of the financial industry, sales processes, products, services. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Note on Compensation for Part-Time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full-time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.

The national salary range for Sr Analyst, Placement - Life : $55,000.00-$102,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Sr Analyst, Placement - Life : $55,000.00 - $82,000.00
