BMW Technician / European Automotive Technician – $30-45/hr + Bonus
Company Introduction
Company Introduction
Bavarian Performance Group is a BMW and Mini specialty repair shop in Winchester, MA focused on doing things the right way. We’re a small, professional team that works on high-quality vehicles and believe technicians should have the tools, time, and environment to perform proper diagnostics and repairs.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a solid B-level technician that wants to work on interesting cars, build diagnostic skills, and work in a drama-free shop. If you're tired of dealership pressure, flat rate swings, or just want a place where quality matters more than rushing cars out the door, this could be a great fit.
We see about 1,200 cars per year with a $1,500 average repair order, so the work stays interesting and doesn’t turn into endless basic maintenance. We maintain a steady workflow year-round, so technicians can count on consistent hours and stable income. European experience is helpful but not required — a strong technician with good fundamentals and the right mindset is what matters most.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Diagnosing and repairing BMW, Mini, and other European vehicles.
- Handling maintenance and common repairs including cooling systems, oil leaks, suspension, and drivability issues.
- Using dealer-level BMW diagnostic equipment.
- Working with service advisors who handle customer communication.
- Performing quality checks and road tests.
- Keeping your bay organized and professional.
- Taking pride in doing repairs correctly the first time.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years automotive technician experience.
- Solid mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Your own professional technician tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week.
- Professional attitude and pride in workmanship.
- Self-motivated technician who cares more about doing it right than doing it fast.
- Technician mindset focused on proper diagnostics rather than guessing and parts swapping.
Bonus Points (Not Required):
- European or BMW/Mini experience.
- Electrical or drivability diagnostic experience.
- Experience with higher-end scan tools.
- Interest in growing into an A-level diagnostic technician.
Pay & Benefits:
- $30 – $45 per hour based on experience, diagnostic ability, and overall capability (most of our technicians fall in the $35–45 range).
- Weekly gross profit performance bonus.
- Stable hourly pay (no flat rate stress).
- 40 hour work week.
- Paid lunch (yes, really).
- 100% employer-paid individual health insurance.
- Family health plans available.
- Paid vacation and PTO.
- No weekends.
- Training reimbursement.
- Uniforms provided.
- Fully climate-controlled shop.
- Modern 4-bay facility including dedicated alignment rack.
- Dedicated service advisor staff so technicians can focus on repairs.
Why Techs Like Working Here
We’re a smaller specialty shop where technicians aren’t just a number. No warranty time fights, no corporate politics, and no chaos. Just good equipment, good cars, and a team that respects the trade. We invest heavily in proper diagnostic equipment so technicians can diagnose efficiently instead of fighting tool limitations.
We value technicians who diagnose problems properly and stand behind their repairs. If you want to continue working on high-end European vehicles in a more professional and sane environment, you’ll probably like it here.
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed or reach out with your resume and a short description of your experience.
We’ll likely ask:
- Do you have your own professional tools?
- Are you within commuting distance of Winchester MA?
- How many years of technician experience do you have?
BMW dealership technicians looking for a better work environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are a small 2-technician shop adding one team member, so we are looking for the right long-term fit.
