This position oversees clinical pharmacy services within The US Oncology Network practices as part of the ClinReview program. The role supervises and develops ClinReview pharmacists; manages workload, coverage, clinical quality, and program performance; and partners with practices, leadership, and McKesson teams to support high-quality, cost-effective pharmacy services that meet regulatory and quality requirements.

In addition, this position supports a portfolio of clinical content and cross-functional initiatives. Responsibilities may include Value Pathways support, protocol and clinical-tool development, physician-governance activities, and P&T support. The role connects insights from clinical pharmacy practice with scalable Network content, standards, workflows, and improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop ClinReview pharmacists, including performance management, career development, and onboarding.
  • Manage workload, staffing, coverage, priorities, escalations, and day-to-day operations for the assigned team.
  • Maintain clinical quality and consistency through clear standards, case review, calibration, and appropriate escalation.
  • Monitor capacity, clinical interventions, quality findings, and stakeholder feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with program and practice leadership on drug-use strategies, patient safety, and medication-review or decision-support improvements.
  • As assigned, support Value Pathways reviews, physician-governance activities, and P&T priorities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of evidence-based oncology content, including protocols, clinical guidance, decision support, education, and implementation tools.
  • Translate relevant evidence, ClinReview findings, and practice needs into actionable recommendations and scalable improvements.
  • Coordinate assigned clinical or operational projects, including planning, cross-functional collaboration, implementation, and measurement.
  • Track and report relevant measures for team performance, clinical quality, and assigned content or projects.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or discontinue low-value processes.

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Education

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Post-doctorate residency training preferred.
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred.

Critical Skills

  • 6+ years of oncology pharmacy or related clinical healthcare experience.
  • 1+ years of supervisory, team-leadership, or program-lead experience.
  • Current pharmacist license in at least one U.S. state; flexibility to obtain additional licenses as required.
  • Experience translating oncology evidence into clinical recommendations, content, or workflows.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Oncology pharmacy expertise and sound clinical judgment.
  • People leadership, coaching, delegation, performance management, and change leadership.
  • Evidence evaluation, scientific writing, and clinical content development.
  • Knowledge of oncology governance, protocols, and EHR-enabled clinical workflows.
  • Project coordination, prioritization, facilitation, and execution.
  • Ability to analyze clinical and operational data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Clear communication with pharmacists, physicians, practice leaders, technical teams, and executives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and virtual collaboration tools.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Community oncology practice-development experience preferred.
  • Experience with P&T governance, clinical decision support, or protocol development preferred.
  • Remote-team management experience preferred.
  • Experience with performance reporting, process improvement, change management, or technology-enabled workflows preferred.
  • Understanding of managed-care trends, including step edits, prior authorization, and value-based reimbursement, is a plus.
  • Strong customer-service orientation, communication, critical thinking, organization, and follow-through.
