As a Medical Director at ICON, you will drive medical initiatives within project teams, guiding strategic direction and decision-making processes, and offer expert medical and scientific guidance, leveraging therapeutic expertise to inform project development.
What You Will Do:
You will lead medical affairs delivery across your portfolio, setting standards and developing your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic medical leadership and guidance on project teams.
- Offering expert medical and scientific consultation throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in medical and safety monitoring activities.
- Representing the Medical Affairs Department in business development initiatives.
- Providing operational oversight within the Medical Affairs Department as needed.
Your Profile:
You will bring significant medical affairs experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Medical degree (MD) or equivalent qualification - Cardiology MD OR Endocrinology/Diabetes/Obesity or Internal Medicine MDs
- Cardiovascular Outcomes trial experience or obesity/ GLP1 experience is a must for the role
- Extensive experience in clinical research and development,
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, and GCP guidelines.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on interpreting clinical data and driving evidence-based decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, global teams.
