Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Order Fulfillment Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently building pallets, staging product, and loading outgoing trucks according to standard work instructions. This role supports accurate customer shipments by reading labels and order paperwork, placing product in the proper load and stop sequence, operating material handling equipment, maintaining shipping documentation, and helping keep cooler and dock areas clean, organized, and productive.
Key Responsibilities
- Read labels, order sheets, and shipping paperwork to identify items and build accurate customer orders.
- Build pallets in the proper load and stop sequence while following standard work instructions and shipping requirements.
- Operate and understand inventory scanners to support accurate tracking, picking, staging, and shipment of product.
- Use an electric pallet jack and other material handling equipment safely to move product to shipping locations, delivery platforms, coolers, and dock areas.
- Pick customer orders efficiently, ensuring the correct product type and quantity are transported to the appropriate area.
- Load outgoing trucks with strict attention to order accuracy and compliance with shipper and receiver documentation.
- Complete, maintain, and follow all relevant shipping documentation and shipping instructions as required.
- Assemble, carry, transport, stencil, tag, mark, repack, or weigh orders as required for shipment.
- Report quality variances, product order issues, and discrepancies immediately to the appropriate supervisor or lead.
- Maintain inventory product rotation using First In/First Out practices and properly stage and track products in the coolers.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, including coolers and dock areas.
- Communicate verbally with supervisors, leads, and associates regarding order status, discrepancies, safety, and operational needs.
- Work overtime as needed and perform other job duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Lead.

Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and understand English and accurately identify items on paperwork, labels, and order documentation.
- Ability to operate and understand inventory scanners used for order fulfillment, staging, and shipment tracking.
- Ability to be trained to safely operate an electric pallet jack and other material handling equipment used in the role.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy when picking, staging, documenting, and loading outgoing trucks.
- Ability to follow standard work instructions, shipping instructions, safety expectations, and established documentation procedures.
- Ability to communicate verbally with supervisors, leads, and associates regarding order issues, discrepancies, and work needs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping as product is moved.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
This position works on-site in shipping, cooler, and dock areas and requires work in a damp and cold environment. The role requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping as product is moved. Team members must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, operate or be trained to operate an electric pallet jack safely, use material handling equipment, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and work overtime as needed. No regular travel is expected for this role.
