A great patient experience begins with a great first interaction. At Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), we’re looking for an experienced Patient Access Representative who brings compassion, accuracy, and a heart for service to every patient interaction. In this important role, you’ll help create a welcoming environment, navigate registration and scheduling needs, and ensure patients feel respected, supported, and cared for from the moment they connect with us.

As a Patient Access Representative in this fast-paced and dynamic setting, your ability to connect with patients, stay organized, and keep things running smoothly ensures every individual feels supported and valued from the moment they walk through the door.

What You’ll Do:

  • Welcome patients and visitors with warmth, compassion, and a commitment to an exceptional patient experience.
  • Manage patient registration, check-in, scheduling, and follow-up coordination to support smooth clinic operations.
  • Accurately prepare, verify, and update patient demographics and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, including DSHS screening, and help ensure patient information is complete and current.
  • Respond to incoming calls, route inquiries, and assist with data entry, scanning, correspondence, and other administrative needs.
  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail while managing competing priorities in a high-volume clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with providers and colleagues across departments to support efficient patient flow and consistent service.
  • Provide administrative coverage and assistance as needed to support the broader care team.

Our work is grounded in respect, honesty, quality, and teamwork, with a shared commitment to the well-being of the Indigenous community we serve.

When you join PTHA, you become part of a team whose work extends beyond individual appointments and transactions. Every interaction is an opportunity to build trust, strengthen connections, and contribute to a healing environment.

  • Purpose-driven work: Make a meaningful difference in the patient experience and community wellness.

  • Paid Time Off: 13 annual vacation days and 13 annual sick leave days.
  • Paid Holidays: 18+ paid holidays annually, including a birthday holiday.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with annual profit-sharing contributions after one (1) year of service.
  • Life and AD&D Insurance: Coverage to help provide additional peace of mind.
  • Student Loan Repayment Opportunities: PTHA is an approved site for various student loan repayment programs.
  • Work-Life Balance: A supportive environment that values employee well-being.

Bring Your Experience. Help Us Make a Difference.

Your attention to detail, commitment to service, and ability to help patients navigate their healthcare experience are valuable parts of the care we provide. If you’re ready to bring your skills to a team with a meaningful mission and a heart for serving our community, we’d love to hear from you!
