THE OPPORTUNITY

VELUX is the world's most recognised brand in roof windows and skylights, with a genuine mission: creating better living environments through daylight and fresh air. Backed by a foundation with a long-term ownership philosophy, this is a company that thinks in decades, not quarters.

IT in VELUX is entering a new chapter. A new strategy is taking shape, it is high on the Group agenda, and it comes with a clear long-term view of where we are going. At its heart is, of course AI and all the new tech, but even more so, are the platforms that run the business: SAP and Workday, supporting Finance, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and People & Organisation.

With a strong foundation already in place, we’re now looking for a leader to take it to the next level - evolving from classic ERP toward AI-enabled ways of working. For a leader who enjoys transformation, wants to shape a roadmap rather than simply run one, and gets energy from solving real problems, this role is worth a conversation.

What you will lead

You will be accountable for the strategy, delivery, and operation of the enterprise platforms behind VELUX's global support functions and be a leader of leaders.

As part of a newly established IT leadership team, reporting to the CIO, you will contribute to the strategic IT agenda beyond your own area. You will own the budget, the key vendor relationships, and the portfolio of programmes across the support functions.

What the role actually involves

Stabilising the core and delivering upgrades

You’ll lead our work on platform reliability: setting up a clear roadmap, solving problems at their source, and keeping stakeholders informed and supported along the way.

Rethinking the support model

You’ll have the opportunity to reshape our SAP and Workday support model, building on what works today, including our partnership with an external provider, and shaping how it evolves.

Prioritising with the business

The transformation has strong backing, and a big part of the role is making sure effort goes where it creates the most value. With an established PMO behind you, you’ll strengthen portfolio governance and build alignment on priorities.

Leading the AI shift

AI is changing everything, including traditional systems. You will help define what AI-enabled ways of working mean for our applications and for our organisation. It is new ground for everyone, and mindset matters as much as technology.

Who we are looking for

You’re a hands-on IT leader who thinks strategically but isn’t afraid to get into the details. When something breaks, you look past the quick fix to find the real cause, bring the right people together, and make sure it gets properly resolved. People trust you because you deliver on what you promise.

You work in a lean, practical way, and when setting priorities, you involve people rather than handing down a list. You help stakeholders reach a shared view of what matters most, while keeping the conversation focused and constructive.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • 10+ years of IT leadership, including leading global, multi-disciplinary organisations.
  • Experience with enterprise SAP landscapes across Finance, Sales, and Operations/Supply Chain; S/4HANA experience is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with HR technology platforms, ideally Workday is an advantage.
  • A track record of leading large upgrades and multi-year transformations in a global, matrixed organisation.
  • Strong vendor management, including contracts with global system integrators and managed-service providers.
  • Curiosity about AI and automation, and a practical view on how they can change the way we work.
  • Experience from a manufacturing company is a distinct advantage, and from the building materials industry is a plus.
