  • Supervise associated piping interfaces, including nozzle connections, strain control, flange alignment, supports, valves, temporary strainers, cleanliness, and reinstatement.
  • Ensure work fronts are properly planned and required drawings, materials, tools, lifting plans, access, permits, vendor support, and preceding works are available.
  • Monitor preservation and protection of installed equipment until handover, including periodic rotation, desiccants, lubrication, weather protection, and preservation records as applicable.

Technical Compliance and Quality

  • Ensure execution complies with approved AFC drawings, specifications, equipment data sheets, vendor manuals, method statements, ITPs, and applicable international standards.
  • Participate in inspection requests and witness required hold and witness points with QA/QC personnel and vendor representatives.
  • Inspect equipment installation, alignment, levelling, soft-foot, grouting, bolting, lubrication, cleanliness, guards, supports, and general workmanship.
  • Witness or review mechanical tests and checks, including hydrostatic and pneumatic tests where applicable, flushing, blowing, cleaning, leak tests, shaft alignment, rotation checks, vibration baseline checks, and functional testing.
  • Review and follow up punch items, site observations, non-conformities, concessions, and corrective actions until closure.
  • Assist in checking red-line mark-ups, inspection reports, test packs, preservation records, equipment dossiers, and as-built documentation.

Contractor Supervision and Progress

  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor manpower, supervision, productivity, work quality, and compliance with the approved construction schedule.
  • Review short-term work plans and report constraints, delays, interface issues, and recovery requirements to the Mechanical Superintendent or Construction Manager.
