[What the role is]
The incumbent will provide coverage for the Lead Specialist in SWR 2 during her maternity/shared parental leave, supporting applied research, technology translation and deployment in emerging and cross-cutting technology domains.[What you will be working on]
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the SWR 2 team in keeping abreast of global technological trends and developing technical expertise in decarbonisation and carbon management.
- Assist in the initiation and technical evaluation of R&D projects and proposals.
- Support the management of ongoing R&D projects to ensure they meet objectives, deliverables and timelines.
- Assist in the development and deployment of technologies in decarbonisation, carbon capture, and resource recovery.
- Support the structuring of initiatives that strengthen the research-to-deployment pathway.
- Assist in quantifying R&D outcomes through ROI, CBA and sustainability impact metrics.
- Support the management of key partnerships with international organisations and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of technology roadmaps and strategic planning for funding initiatives
[What we are looking for]
- Degree in Engineering - At least 2 years' relevant experience, practical knowledge and/or expertise in decarbonisation / carbon removal / carbon capture, storage & utilisation
- Good writing and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a passion for building technical expertise
- Strong analytical and systematic thinking - Works well independently and is a resourceful team player
