As part of the renowned MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team. Our institute is recognized regionally and nationally for advancing cardiovascular care through groundbreaking research, state-of-the-art technology, and a steadfast focus on improving patient outcomes.

 

In this role, you will:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient care, focusing on pre- and post-operative office based management.

• Collaborate with an expert team of surgeons, physicians, and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation in cardiac surgery practices.

Minimal QualificationsEducation

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program. required and
• Bachelor's degree required and
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 1-2 years Related experience; specialty experience may be preferred based on location. required

Position Details:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

• Day shift  - 8 hour shifts

• Outpatient-focused role with Inpatient Involvement

• No weekends, holidays, or call associated

 

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in cardiac surgery or a surgical/acute care setting strongly preferred

• Committed to teamwork, clinical excellence, and advancing cardiovascular care
