Help Professional Drivers Succeed Safely

ATS is seeking an experienced Driver Safety Advisor (DSA) to join our Safety & Risk Management team. In this role, you'll work directly with professional drivers to improve safety performance through coaching, education, and behavioral development.

Leveraging your CDL experience, transportation knowledge, and passion for mentoring, you'll help drivers reduce risk, improve decision-making, and support ATS's commitment to operational excellence and safety.

What You'll Do

• Coach and mentor drivers on safety performance, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.
• Review driver performance, safety, and compliance data to identify trends and coaching opportunities.
• Partner with Driver Managers and internal teams to support driver development and performance improvement.
• Create and recommend individualized improvement plans, including additional training and simulator instruction.
• Analyze accident, injury, and behavioral trends to support proactive risk reduction efforts.
• Assist with road tests, driver evaluations, and orientation assessments.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to driver coaching and development.
• Resolve concerns professionally while fostering strong working relationships with drivers.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CDL and hands-on tractor-trailer driving experience is required.
• Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Experience using computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage confidential information professionally.

Preferred

• Post-secondary education in business, teaching, transportation, or a related field.
• Experience developing and delivering training programs.
• Knowledge of transportation safety technologies and accident mitigation systems.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000.

Base salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location, compared to others performing substantially similar work.
