About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and analytical (Senior) Investment Manager for Private Markets with a focus on Private Credit (m/f/d) to join FERI AG, one of the leading independent multi-asset investment specialists in the German-speaking region. Managing institutional client wealth since 1987, FERI combines traditional and alternative asset expertise with innovation and sustainability across eight locations in four countries. In this high-impact role, you will take ownership of identifying, analyzing, and selecting top-tier private-market fund managers, driving comprehensive due diligence processes, and formulating robust investment recommendations for institutional clients and internal committees while shaping the future of our alternative investments portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manager Selection & Sourcing: Independently identify, analyze, and evaluate private market fund managers globally with a specialized, rigorous focus on Private Credit strategies and direct lending opportunities.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough qualitative and quantitative due diligence assessments covering investment strategies, historical track records, team quality, fund structures, legal terms & conditions, and risk-return profiles.
  • Investment Recommendations: Prepare well-founded, institutional-grade investment proposals and memoranda for internal decision-making committees and high-net-worth client mandates.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Actively monitor existing fund investments through ongoing performance analysis, liquidity planning, valuation reviews, and customized portfolio reporting.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Create and present comprehensive investor reports, attend committee and client meetings, and support sales teams in acquiring new institutional clients through expert product presentations.
  • Market Research & Strategy Development: Produce forward-looking macroeconomic market analyses and actively contribute to the development of innovative alternative investment concepts and product lines.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • Education: University degree (Bachelor's minimum, Master's preferred) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a comparable quantitative field, ideally complemented by relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA).
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven professional experience in the selection, analysis, and due diligence of Private Credit funds within an asset management firm, institutional investor, fund-of-funds, or financial advisory context.
  • Analytical Expertise: Exceptional financial analysis skills with a deep understanding of fund strategies, legal structures, manager quality, terms, and complex risk-return profiles.
  • Communication & Presentation: Ability to translate complex financial analyses and market data into clear, compelling presentations for institutional stakeholders and C-level executives.
  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in both German and English (C1 level minimum in both) for seamless cross-border communication.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of the Microsoft ecosystem, particularly expert-level financial modeling, data analysis in Excel, and MS Teams collaboration.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Professional exposure to adjacent alternative asset classes such as Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Private Equity.
  • Background experience in M&A advisory, Leveraged Loans, Debt Advisory, or Private Credit Secondary markets.

Personality Traits:

  • Independent, structured work ethic, high commitment, team-oriented mindset, emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Working Environment & Location Policy

  • Office & Hybrid Setup: Based at FERI's modern, state-of-the-art headquarters in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe. Offers a hybrid model with up to 2 home-office days per week (fully remote positions are not available).
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional international travel required for manager due diligence meetings, site visits, and global industry networking.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Remuneration: Base salary ranging from €100,000 to €110,000 gross p.a., supplemented by a performance-based bonus (approx. 10% target structure) and comprehensive total compensation.
  • Work-Life Balance: Trust-based flexible working hours, 30 days of paid annual vacation, and an ergonomic, modern workplace designed for comfort and collaboration.
  • Family & Health Support: Kindergarten cost subsidies, comprehensive corporate health management, and diverse workplace sports and fitness offerings.
  • Mobility & Extras: Subsidized RMV Job-Ticket, corporate bike leasing, attractive (e-)company car policies, and a monthly loaded shopping card.
  • Professional Development: Continuous education budget with dedicated in-house and external training programs, certifications, and career growth pathways.
