Overview
As a Tool Maker Journeyman, you'll fabricate and modify tooling and machine parts using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions, perform machining operations using lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses, conduct preventative maintenance and repair of molds including polishing, replacement of pins and bushings, and dimensional inspections. You'll troubleshoot and maintain hot runner systems, sharpen and maintain mold components, document job assignments, maintain department machinery, and troubleshoot tooling/mold problems. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 5 years of experience in machine trades with background on close tolerance, multi-cavity injection molds, strong blueprint reading skills, and measurement instrument skills.
