SCHOOL NURSE, PRN
SUMMARY:
Provides health services to participating schools in collaboration with the school principals and under the general direction of the School Health Program Coordinator. Develops and implements health policies and procedures. Serves as a resource to school faculty and staff for health and first aid education. Plans and implements care for students with complex health needs. Provides direct care and education to the student body. Serves as a liaison between the school, community agencies, and professionals dealing with the health and learning needs of students.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Colleague must have an RN license, as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to the hire date.
· IDAHO ONLY: Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
3. At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
4. Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
5. Program development and school health or pediatric nursing experience preferred.
6. National School Nurse Certification preferred.
7. Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.

3. Provides direct nursing care.

6. Plans and coordinates School Health Program.
7. Demonstrates good listening skills.
