Description
We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Engineer to join our team on the North Shore, Auckland, and help advance the way we test and deliver our SaaS products.
You’ll join an established QA team at an important point in our automation journey. We already use Playwright and are continuing to expand our automated coverage, improve the reliability of our test suite, and embed automation more deeply into the way we build and release software.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful technical contribution within a successful SaaS company as we grow internationally. You’ll work closely with QA, software engineers, product and DevOps to strengthen our approach to quality and identify where automation can have the greatest impact.
While automation is a key focus, you’ll also use exploratory and targeted manual testing where human judgement adds value. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of software and wants to help build a stronger, more scalable approach to quality.
What You’ll Do
-
Build, maintain and improve automated tests using Playwright.
-
Expand meaningful automation coverage, focusing on where it will have the greatest impact on product quality and release confidence.
-
Investigate test failures, diagnose underlying issues and improve the reliability of our automated test suite.
-
Contribute to the continued evolution of our automation approach, tooling and testing practices.
-
Identify opportunities to replace repetitive manual testing with effective, maintainable automation.
-
Use exploratory and targeted manual testing to uncover issues that automated checks may not.
-
Work closely with software engineers, product and DevOps to identify risks and improve testability throughout the development lifecycle.
-
Understand complex product workflows and test software from the perspective of our customers and users.
-
Clearly document, reproduce and communicate defects, working collaboratively with developers through to resolution.
-
Contribute to acceptance criteria and testing considerations before development begins.
Skills and Tools:
-
Playwright (preferred), however knowledge of Selenium, XUnit and other industry-standard automation tools and frameworks would be advantageous.
-
Experience with CI/CD Pipeline.
-
Jira, Confluence, and Figma for documentation/designs.
-
Scripting and programming languages.
-
Github (for source control).
-
Experience integrating test automation with Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
-
Agile and Scrum methodologies.
-
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
-
SQL and database validation skills.
-
Standard Office365 expertise (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience and other requirements:
-
Proven experience in software manual and automation testing.
-
Proficient in test automation tools and frameworks.
-
Familiar with API-testing tools and previous exposure to API testing.
-
Excellent command of the English language – efficient communication and teamwork is critical in this role.

Knowledge of the game of golf and/or sporting administration would be advantageous.
