JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, invites applications for a Part-Time Teaching Assistant (TA) to support ANTH 22 for the 2026 Fall Semester. This is a remote position that will assist the course instructor with instructional and administrative responsibilities to ensure effective course delivery and support student learning in a high-enrollment undergraduate course.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with grading assignments, quizzes, and examinations in accordance with instructor-established guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely entry of grades within the University’s learning management system (e.g., Canvas)
- Draft and distribute course-related announcements to facilitate clear and consistent communication
- Respond to student inquiries via email in a timely and professional manner
- Hold scheduled office hours (virtual and/or in-person) to support student understanding of course materials
- Provide general instructional and administrative support to the course instructor as needed
- Uphold University policies regarding academic integrity, confidentiality, and student records
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
