Your role and responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end operations planning, ensuring alignment across engineering, production, supply chain, and finance. You will play a key role in driving project execution from order intake to delivery, ensuring operational performance and on-time delivery (ROTD).

  • You will actively manage and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, facilitating alignment through regular planning reviews and decision-making forums. You will ensure effective workload and capacity planning, identifying constraints and driving mitigation actions to secure execution.

  • This role requires strong ownership of planning activities, including inventory, Work-In-Progress, and working capital optimization, as well as active contribution to financial performance.

  • Additionally, you will act as a key point of reference for material planning activities, ensuring alignment with material planners and providing support and backup when needed.

  • This role offers strong exposure to end-to-end operations and the opportunity to directly impact delivery performance, operational efficiency, and business results.

This role is contributing to the ELSP Smart Power Division - 3101 LVS Low Voltage System in Italy - Dalmine.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leading the operations planning process and facilitating cross-functional review meetings, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.

  • Preparing and managing Rough Cut and detailed capacity planning, identifying constraints and driving short- and long-term solutions to remove bottlenecks.

  • Analyzing workload and capacity to ensure optimal resource utilization and execution feasibility.

  • Managing Work-In-Progress (WIP) and inventory levels, identifying optimization opportunities and supporting working capital improvement initiatives.

  • Monitoring and driving adherence to production plans, identifying root causes for deviations and implementing corrective actions.

  • Supporting financial performance by contributing to ROK and AIM management through planning decisions and inventory control.

  • Ensuring strong coordination with material planning, providing guidance and acting as backup when required.

You will join a dynamic and high-performing team, working in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and engineering. In this role, you will have a high level of ownership and visibility, with a direct impact on planning decisions, delivery performance, and overall operational execution.


Qualifications for the role

  • Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is considered a plus. Solid hands-on experience in operations planning and manufacturing environments is essential.

  • Languages: Ability to communicate fluently in both Italian and English, in cross-functional and international environments.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint, with strong ability to present and communicate planning insights effectively. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI is strongly preferred. Solid experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and planning tools, including capacity planning, workload analysis, and inventory management.

  • Experience: Proven experience (at least 3 years) in operations planning within complex and multidisciplinary environments, with a demonstrated track record of managing end-to-end planning activities from order intake to delivery. Strong ability to balance demand and capacity, drive on-time delivery performance (ROTD), and ensure execution across all planning dimensions.  Solid experience in coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, leading planning reviews, and driving alignment across production, supply chain, engineering, and finance. Proven ability to manage Work-In-Progress (WIP), inventory, and workload planning, while contributing to financial performance (ROK, AIM). Experience in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, with the ability to identify bottlenecks, prioritize effectively, and implement corrective actions to secure operational performance.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex scenarios and take ownership of planning decisions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with proven capability to lead cross-functional discussion and align multiple functions towards common objectives. Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to challenge stakeholders and external partners when needed, ensuring alignment with planning priorities and delivery commitments. Highly proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and complex environments, managing priorities under pressure and driving outcomes with a high level of ownership and autonomy.

Compensation Package

  • Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico  

  • Minimum annual salary: € 48.000

  • Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
