Job Purpose / Summary
The Associate Director – Logistics Claims & OS&D provides strategic leadership, governance, and enterprise oversight for all Transportation Claims and Logistics OS&D activities. This role establishes the vision, operating model, and performance expectations for Logistics claims management, ensuring alignment with enterprise financial, operational, and risk management objectives.
As the senior leader accountable for outcomes, this role defines policy, sets standards, and ensures effective execution through the team structure. The Associate Director serves as the ultimate escalation point for high-impact issues while driving long-term capability, process maturity, and cross-functional alignment across the organization.
This position requires strong executive leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across functions to protect company interests and enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
Define and lead the enterprise strategy for Transportation Claims and Logistics OS&D.
Establish policies, governance frameworks, and operating standards.
Ensure alignment with financial, legal, and operational risk requirements.
Organizational Leadership
Lead through the management team to ensure consistent execution.
Set performance expectations and accountability frameworks.
Build organizational capability and succession planning.
Enterprise Oversight & Escalation
Serve as the final escalation point for high-risk or complex claims.
Provide direction on sensitive, cross-functional, or business-critical issues.
Cross-Functional Integration
Partner with senior leaders across Transportation, Finance, Sales, FSQA, Legal, and Supply Chain.
Align claims strategy with broader enterprise initiatives.
Financial Oversight & Risk Management
Ensure appropriate financial governance, controls, and compliance.
Oversee claim recovery performance and exposure management.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
Drive process standardization, automation, and system enhancements.
Leverage insights and analytics to improve performance and reduce risk.
External & Industry Alignment
Represent the organization in external engagements with 3rd Party carriers and partners.
Ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or 15 years related field preferred.
Experience: 10-years progressive leadership experience in logistics, claims, supply chain operations, or related field.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead through others, influence senior stakeholders, and drive enterprise outcomes.
Technical: Strong understanding of transportation claims, OS&D, loss mitigation and recovery, contracts, and governance frameworks.
