Job Description:
Job Summary
The Power Generation Technician Supervisor at PROPWR is responsible for leading, mentoring, and coordinating a team of Power Generation Technicians to ensure safe, effective, and efficient maintenance, repair, and operation of power generation assets. This position is also responsible for leading quality assurance activities of equipment. This role is key to ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily activities of the Power Generation Technician Team
Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders, preventative maintenance, and repair activities across all power generation and related assets
Provide technical guidance and support for complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs involving mechanical and electrical systems
Plan, oversee, document, and actively participate in the testing of new power generation assets, ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and fully operational prior to handover to sustained operations
Coordinate with Operations Supervisors and Asset Reliability team to strategically plan maintenance intervals, ensuring optimal equipment performance and reliability
Collaborate with project teams during quality assurance activities to resolve technical issues to ensure successful start-up of power generation assets
Prioritizes workload effectively to avoid equipment failure and avoid unplanned downtime
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems utilizing CAT ET and other diagnostic software
Documents work performed, diagnostic steps taken, and parts used in the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System
Promote and enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices
Ensure proper inventory management of parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance and commissioning activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in field operations, maintenance, or supervision within the gas compression, power generation, or heavy equipment industry.
Experience with mobile power generation equipment and natural gas engines or turbines
Proven ability to lead and develop field teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage team members.
Experience with CMMS and other operational management systems.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization and adapt to changing priorities.
Responsive, action oriented
Personable, can maintain good rapport with organizational leadership, clients, and team
Must be driven, self-motivated, well-organized, and have good time management skills
Must be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditions
Must be physically able to safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
