S&W is looking to hire a Day Warehouse Lead to assist in executing the Day Warehouse Manager's vision and ensuring the day shift finishes strong every day. The Lead's primary responsibility is closing out the day shift and ensuring all assigned work is completed safely, accurately, and according to company standards before employees leave. When necessary, the Lead is expected to extend the crew's shift to ensure work is completed correctly rather than carrying work forward.
The Day Warehouse Lead is expected to lead by example, reinforce the S&W Foods Core Values, build a culture of accountability, develop employees through coaching, enforce safety and company policies, and continuously improve warehouse operations.
Operational Execution
- Execute the direction and priorities established by the Day Warehouse Manager.
- Own the successful closeout of the day shift each day.
- Ensure all receiving, put-away, replenishment, sanitation, equipment checks, staging, and housekeeping are completed before employees leave.
- Keep employees beyond scheduled hours whenever necessary to safely complete all required work.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and accuracy throughout the shift and correct issues immediately.
- Communicate shift results, concerns, and unresolved issues to the Day Warehouse Manager.
People Development
- Coach employees daily on productivity, quality, attendance, and standard operating procedures.
- Train new employees and reinforce best practices with existing team members.
- Hold employees accountable while treating them with professionalism and respect.
- Recognize strong performance and address deficiencies immediately.
Safety & Compliance
- Lead by example in all safety practices.
- Enforce OSHA requirements, food safety standards, company policies, and warehouse procedures without exception.
- Correct unsafe behaviors immediately and document issues when appropriate.
- Promote equipment care, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance.
Culture & Continuous Improvement

- Identify process improvements that improve safety, service, productivity, and accuracy.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum two years of warehouse lead or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and hold others accountable.
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, RF scanning, inventory control, and powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to prioritize work while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
- Commitment to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of warehouse lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to routinely lift to 60 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
- Ability to work in refrigerated warehouse environments.
- Ability to work open-ended shifts until all work is completed.
