Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
What are you accountable for?
Perform configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment (e.g., base stations, routers, switches, transmission systems) at various sites.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks and inspections on network infrastructure.
Diagnose and troubleshoot network faults and outages, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Respond to and resolve network incidents and alarms within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
Collaborate with network planning, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, network diagrams, and equipment inventory records.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during field operations.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide support outside of regular business hours as required.
What do you need to have for the role?
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in network field operations within the telecommunications industry, preferably with mobile network operators.
Proven experience with cellular technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), including RAN and transmission systems.
Familiarity with various network equipment vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia).
Proficiency in using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned operational areas.
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, PMP, CIDB, TM NIOSH) are a plus.
