Overview
If you're a college student, Pfizer Futures is your chance to gain real-world, impactful work experience for 10-12 weeks during the summer. This U.S. program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to grow and develop into the next Pfizer Colleague.
With opportunities across the Enterprise, Pfizer Futures interns will support their division's goals and initiatives while building relationships and learning about Pfizer.
The 2027 Pfizer Futures application portal will be open from October 5th to November 8th, 2026.
Applications and placements for this program are reviewed on a rolling basis. Interview and hiring timelines differ by division.
Responsibilities
As a digitally enabled biopharmaceutical company, Pfizer leverages digital technology, data, and artificial intelligence across research, development, manufacturing, commercial operations, and patient and customer engagement. Digital colleagues help build solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science and analytics, software engineering, digital product management, customer experience design, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and agile delivery.As a Digital and Technology intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with multidisciplinary teams on real business challenges. Assignments may involve developing or supporting digital products, analyzing data, designing user experiences, evaluating AI-enabled solutions, or helping colleagues adopt new technologies.Successful interns demonstrate curiosity, learning agility, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and the responsible use of digital and AI-enabled tools while contributing to meaningful work that supports Pfizer's purpose: breakthroughs that change patients' lives.
Examples of Potential Projects:
- AI/ML or Data Intern—Support data preparation, analysis, experimentation, model evaluation, dashboard development, or AI-enabled workflows.
- Software or Full-Stack Engineering Intern—Contribute to applications, APIs, cloud-based solutions, testing, technical documentation, or system integrations.
- Product Analytics Intern—Analyze product performance, user behavior, adoption metrics, requirements, or experimental outcomes to support product decisions.
- Digital Product Marketing Intern—Support user research, product positioning, communications, product launches, and adoption of digital or AI-enabled solutions.
- Customer Experience Design Intern—Assist with user research, journey mapping, usability testing, wireframes, prototypes, or the design of accessible digital experiences.
Project assignments are illustrative and may vary based on business needs, organizational priorities, location requirements, project availability, and manager capacity.

- The Digital and Technology Early Careers Program is a full-time, two-year accelerated development program featuring rotational assignments across technical, product, data, design, and business-facing roles.

Minimum Qualifications
• Be immediately authorized to work in the U.S. This Program cannot support applicants who require employer sponsored visas now or in the future.• Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a full-time university program (an accredited college / university degree program at the time of application)• Be at least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date• Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester. Note: For R&D roles, a minimum GPA of 3.3 is required.• Be able to commute to a Pfizer location 4+ days a week. Please note, some lab/manufacturing roles may require additional on-site days
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Security, Bioinformatics, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical, quantitative, digital product, or design discipline
- Demonstrated hands-on experience through academic projects, internships, research, hackathons, portfolios, prototypes, or independent work
- Foundational experience in one or more relevant areas such as programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, product development, user research, digital design, or cloud technologies
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs, communicate findings effectively, collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, and apply technology and data responsibly
- Strong learning agility, curiosity, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Junior- or senior-level students preferred

The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.
In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
Pay Rate Range: $26/hr to $29/hr
