PURPOSE:
In accordance with company policies and procedures, the Completion Tools Supervisor – Frac Plug Assembly will lead the Frac Plug Assembly operation to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position is responsible for department performance, including safety, quality, delivery, labor efficiency, employee development, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor will coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues, meet customer requirements, and ensure products are assembled in accordance with approved engineering specifications and quality standards.
CRITICAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure all Frac Plug Assembly work complies with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, bills of material, inspection requirements, traceability standards, and documentation requirements.
2. Train, qualify, and hold employees accountable to approved assembly processes, and stop or escalate work when quality or customer requirements are at risk.
3. Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve nonconformances, rework, scrap, customer concerns, and process-related issues.
4. Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory, Supply Chain, and Operations to maintain material availability and prevent production disruptions.
5. Communicate production, quality, staffing, material, and delivery risks to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
6. Lead the resolution of quality, productivity, delivery, staffing, and operational issues by identifying root causes and driving corrective actions to completion.
7. Verify corrective actions are effective and escalate significant risks or barriers to the Operations Manager when necessary.
8. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment through strong housekeeping and 5S practices.
9. Enforce safety policies, procedures, training, and PPE requirements, and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
10. Establish daily and weekly production priorities and manage manpower, materials, equipment, and workstations to meet customer requirements.
11. Identify production constraints, communicate risks, and execute recovery plans to maintain delivery commitments.
12. Align staffing, labor utilization, productivity, and overtime with production demand while maintaining safety and quality standards.
13. Drive labor efficiency improvements through workflow optimization, cross-training, improved assembly methods, tooling enhancements, and waste reduction.
14. Lead employees through clear expectations, coaching, performance feedback, accountability, and performance management practices.
15. Participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, compensation recommendations, promotions, and workforce planning activities.
16. Develop future leaders while fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
17. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators including safety, productivity, labor efficiency, overtime, first-pass yield, rework, scrap, attendance, training, backlog, and capacity.
18. Use performance data and shop-floor observations to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and drive measurable operational improvements.
19. Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, take ownership of operational performance, and address issues promptly and effectively.
20. Make decisions using data, facts, and direct observation while leading by example and maintaining consistent professional standards.
21. Maintain flexibility to support urgent business-critical matters outside normal business hours as required.
Requirements
1. 3+ years of demonstrated experience leading manufacturing, assembly, production, or related industrial operations, including staffing, labor utilization, and operational priorities.
2. Strong employee-leadership, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly prints, work instructions, specifications, and bills of material.
4. Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, root-cause analysis, corrective-action processes, problem-solving, and operational decision-making.
5. Ability to analyze KPIs and use data to improve manufacturing performance.
6. Ability and willingness to meet the position’s 24/7 availability requirements.

8. Experience in oilfield completion tools, frac plugs, downhole tools, or related oil and gas manufacturing.
9. Experience leading high-volume or repetitive assembly operations and improving labor efficiency and productivity.
10. Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience.
11. ERP/MRP system experience.
