About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Architect to join the Strategy, Innovation, and Architecture organization within Fraud & Claims Technology. This role is responsible for driving architecture strategy, evaluating complex technology solutions, and supporting modernization initiatives that enable scalable, secure, and compliant business capabilities. The successful candidate will partner with technology leaders, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to define future-state architectures and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategic priorities.
In This Role You Will
- Lead the implementation of complex technology initiatives and projects with broad organizational impact.
- Develop and maintain architecture artifacts supporting key technology programs and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the definition of future-state technology architecture, standards, and roadmaps.
- Identify projects with medium to high architectural impact and provide architecture guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Conduct technology assessments, architecture reviews, and solution evaluations to support informed decision-making.
- Communicate architecture strategy, direction, and standards to both technology teams and leadership.
- Make architecture decisions that support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise technology solutions.
- Ensure applications and solutions comply with Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies, risk requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of experience supporting technology solutions within regulated environments with compliance, risk management, or governance requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Fraud & Claims Technology, regulatory, risk, privacy, or financial services data initiatives.
- Experience designing enterprise data architectures, including data modeling, integration, and modernization strategies.
- Experience with cloud and distributed data platforms such as GCP, Hadoop, Spark, Dremio, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, and compliance practices.
- Experience leading architecture assessments, migration planning, and large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Python, PySpark, microservices, Kafka, and modern data engineering solutions.
- ArchiMate or other architecture framework certifications.
Job Expectations
- Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC in accordance with the Wells Fargo hybrid work model.
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $119,000.00 - $187,000.00
