Description
TITLE: Overnight Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN)
ROLE: Temporary (3+ month) PDN Assignment with Long-Term PDN/PT/FT Opportunity
LOCATION: Kettering, OH (Montgomery County)
Home Care Network is seeking an exceptional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide overnight private duty nursing services for a valued client in Kettering, Ohio.
This opportunity was created due to a trusted member of our nursing team taking an extended medical leave. We are seeking two highly dependable nurses to provide consistent overnight coverage for a minimum of approximately three months while ensuring continuity of care for the client.
Although this specific client assignment is temporary in nature:
- For those seeking more hours: Additional, PRN shifts will be offered (if desired) to provide additional case hours and income, and this PRN role will be available long-term, beyond the temporary case assignment.
- For those seeking long-term / ongoing employment: Qualified nurses who are interested in ongoing employment may have opportunities for additional cases after this assignment concludes. Continued employment beyond this case is not guaranteed but HCN will seek available new cases on your behalf, and you will have first priority for any long-term openings that arise while covering this assignment.
This position is ideal for nurses seeking a stable, short-term overnight schedule, meaningful one-on-one patient care, and the opportunity to become part of a supportive, clinician-focused home health organization. This opportunity may also be an ideal pathway to future part-time or full-time opportunities with our agency, if desired and cases are available.
Immediate PDN Needs
We are open to hiring one or two nurses to cover this schedule. Applicants must have dependable overnight availability and be able to commit to a consistent schedule each week. During the application process, candidates will be asked which overnight shifts they are available to work. Preference may be given to nurses who can provide substantial weekly coverage and maintain consistency throughout the duration of the assignment.
PRIORITY Schedule: Overnight Private Duty Nursing Coverage
- 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
- Seven nights per week coverage needed, with consecutive days required
- 4-5 day Option: Mon-Fri or Mon-Thu
- 2-3 day Option: Sat-Sun or Fri-Sun
- Assignment expected to last at least three months
- Reliable travel to/from client home in Kettering, OH is required.
SECONDARY Schedule: PRN / As-Needed
- Any hours/days during which you are available and that do not interfere with your priority
- PRN assignments are available ongoing, in a long-term capacity (outlasting temporary assignment)
- Travel up to a 30-minute radius (from your home) is required, and willingness to cover clients up to a 45- or 60-minute radius is highly desired.
All who join HCN in a temporary assignment + PRN capacity but seek Part-Time or Full-time hours after the assignment will have first priority to add additional clients/shifts for up to 40 hours per week (if desired) in their target geography.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
One Consistent Client
Rather than traveling between multiple facilities or patients, you'll have the opportunity to provide focused, meaningful care for one client while building trust and establishing continuity.
Potential for Additional Hours
For nurses interested in additional work beyond this overnight assignment, Home Care Network may be able to offer:
- Additional private duty nursing cases
- PRN assignments
- Future long-term client placements
Additional cases are completely optional.
No On-Call Requirements
Enjoy a predictable schedule without routine on-call responsibilities.
