Job Title: Director, Incentive Compensation

Location: Boston, MA


The Opportunity

Galderma is seeking to hire an experienced individual to lead the Incentive Compensation team, within the Commercial Excellence team. The Director, Incentive Compensation, will be responsible for the design and administration of incentive compensation plans for all Galderma’s business units. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader and have experience as both a manager and as an individual contributor.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Incentive Compensation (IC) team and be responsible and accountable for the design and on-going administration of sales incentive compensation plans. Ensure plans motivate field personnel and support the commercial sales objectives.
  • Drive the design and adoption of “best in class” pharma industry compensation practices.
  • Perform analysis on different compensation plan changes to understand the impact on the business and partner with sales leadership on the evolution of the compensation plans as the product matures.
  • Identify and champion tool improvements, system automation, and data enhancements based on historical IC performance and feedback collected from the Sales leadership.
  • Find opportunities to enhance Galderma’s competitive advantage through innovative and motivating incentive strategies.
  • Accurately establish fair and equitable measures of market opportunity and targets for sales territories, leveraging the best available market data sources; understand and proactively communicate any potential IC data/tracking-related challenges.
  • Communicate quarterly accrual forecasts effectively to leadership, ensuring alignment between compensation plans and financial budgets.
  • Ensure all plan designs are communicated accurately to maximize comprehension and engagement.
  • Build appropriate and innovative IC reporting and tracking for key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and ensure consistent compliance with a quarterly cadence IC calendar by leveraging highly effective organizational skills to facilitate timely submission of deliverables.
  • Advise senior leadership of potential compliance risks and recommend appropriate action plans.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, required, Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of Commercial Operations progressive experience, within a corporate environment is required, direct pharmaceutical manufacturer experience required.
  • Strong experience and expertise within the incentive compensation construct, and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple compensation projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with ability to build relationships with key internal leaders to achieve consensus or negotiate through complex challenges.
  • Proven ability to lead a team working on complex business issues, finding creative options and innovative solutions in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex specialty markets (e.g. dermatology, injectables, immunology) with the ability to simplify complex content to ensure key messages are effectively delivered to customer stakeholders.
  • Experience working with and reporting on syndicated prescription data, field force execution, and related national Wholesaler data sets (e.g. IQVIA, Veeva CRM, 852/867, HUB, SP Dispense)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) required
  • High degree of attention to detail, and excellent written and communication skills
  • Proven track record of effective vendor management
  • Track record of creating scalable process improvements

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role requires the ability to perform standard office activities, including extended periods of computer use, participation in virtual and in-person meetings, and collaboration across teams. Compensation

The target base salary range for this role is $195,000-$245,000 per year. This range reflects the anticipated compensation for the role. Where pay falls withing the range may vary based on many factors, including, but not limited to, job responsibilities, skills, experience, education, certifications, location and applicable geographic pay zones, market conditions, internal equity and business considerations. Compensation decisions are made based on an assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and the totality of relevant factors.

 

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an annual short-term incentive program, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
