About the Role
- Lead the end-to-end portfolio management lifecycle, including underwriting, pricing, product development, reinsurance, and operational process design. Drive innovative, customer-centric solutions that balance growth, profitability, and risk management.- Collaborate closely with regulators, governance functions, and cross-functional stakeholders across Claims, Distribution, Marketing, Finance, and Technology to ensure regulatory compliance, deliver portfolio growth, and strengthen the company’s market position.
- This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the underwriting performance of the assigned business lines, balancing business growth, portfolio quality and profitability through sound underwriting judgment and risk selection.
- Support direct manager in formulating underwriting strategies, pricing controls, risk appetite and portfolio management initiatives to achieve sustainable portfolio growth.
- Ensure timely, accurate and consistent underwriting services while meeting agreed service standards, productivity targets and customer expectations.
- Drive product development, enhancement and digital transformation projects, collaborating with distribution, IT and business stakeholders to improve market competitiveness and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulatory and internal governance requirements.
- Provide strategic and end-to-end leadership in the management of assigned general insurance products, ensuring alignment with business growth ambitions and market competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or Business Administration
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in underwriting, product development or project management, including at least 5 years in management roles.
- Proven track record in driving profitable portfolio growth.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese.
- You are required to obtain relevant license if your job involves in regulated activities
