Marketing Specialist - Commercial Insurance
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Marketing Specialist to join an independently owned retail commercial insurance agency. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring a professional with a strong background in marketing within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quoting small, middle, and large new business accounts, as well as remarketing renewal business requiring new placement. Familiarity with standard insurance carrier rating systems is essential, though training will be provided for any unfamiliar systems. This role demands a blend of creativity, technical proficiency, and analytical skills to excel in the dynamic field of commercial insurance.
Compensation Package
- Salary: Starting at $80,000.00, commensurate with experience

- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute paid lunch)
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, including attending monthly meetings.
- Utilize insurance carrier portals to rate accounts and submit quotes for small, middle, and large-sized accounts.
- Submit submissions directly to carriers, including wholesalers, for harder-to-place business.
- Log activities for all accounts and follow up as necessary.
- Collaborate with producers and account managers to collect and provide additional underwriting data to insurance companies.
- Develop knowledge of carrier appetites and explore new markets when applicable.
- Manage employee logins for carrier portals as the primary marketing contact.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a marketing role within the insurance industry.
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with quoting platforms and a solid understanding of insurance coverages is highly desirable.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and operate insurance carrier systems.
