Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Project Manager for it Space Exploration Operating Unit. This role will be located on-site in Promontory, Utah.
Overview
The Senior Principal Project Manager is responsible for interfacing across the Northrop Grumman Space Exploration Program Team, MPM and OPM to coordinate and develop program metrics and track progress at a high level to provide visibility to Program leadership.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong familiarity with key personnel across SLS/Orion and Industry Primes to provide advocacy and consistency to strengthen SLS longevity
- Interface with SLS Program Directors, Business Development and Industry Team to develop strategies and action plans for program execution and propose future efficiencies across the Industry team.
- Interface with program management, functional organizations, program finance and contracts to lead proposal teams for smaller proposals. Support program leadership on larger proposal preparation and completion.
- Lead SLS booster supplier communications, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely messaging to suppliers regarding program priorities, milestones, and advocacy opportunities. with Supply Chain MPM organization to identify and strengthen key suppliers. Work with NASA and Industry Team to develop synergies across the supply base to drive efficiencies within the SLS program.
- Interface with internal communications, NASA Stratcomm and Industry Prime representatives to plan and execute contractually required advocacy events across SLS/Orion. Work with Program Space Flight Awareness Lead for events that support advocacy for the programs and lead required coordination.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience in Project management and/or Public Relations
- Strong familiarization with the SLS Booster program and the supply base
- Ability to build relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships across internal and external organizations.
- US citizenship required
Preferred Requirements:
- Existing relationships with key NASA and Industry personnel outside of Northrop Grumman is not required but highly desirable
- Experience supporting NASA, SLS/Orion, or other human spaceflight or civil space programs.
- Experience in developing written content for multiple audiences and formats
Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
