UW Medicine’s Patient Financial Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Account Representative Lead.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 40 hours per week
- Day Shift
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the establishment of standards, policies, and procedures
- Assist with development and maintenance of billing and follow up reference documents
- Respond satisfactorily and timely to requests and questions
- Coordinate with supervisor in assigning, reviewing and monitoring quality and timeliness of work and identifying training needs of Patient Account Representatives
- Assist in orienting and training new staff and retraining current staff
- Analyze and review appeals and provide feedback to Patient Account Representatives
- Participate in the PFS closing rotation
- Participate in special projects
- Serve as a Super User for system upgrades and changes
- Assist Patient Account Representatives with obtaining information necessary to obtain retroactive authorizations including letters of medical necessity
- Understand and interpret complex requirements and be able to prioritize and manage updates from multiple sponsors, both federal and non-federal. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of requirements
- Work collaboratively with other UW Medicine Departments
REQUIREMENTS
- High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
