What You'll Do
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where residents feel valued and supported.
- Build positive relationships with residents and their guardians through respectful, compassionate communication.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and participating in fun, engaging activities.
- Provide direct personal care and support residents with daily living needs and mobility.
- Pass and administer medications and take vital signs as required.
- Support residents through challenging behaviors using patience, empathy, redirection, and positive, non-punitive approaches.
- Advocate for residents’ rights, independence, dignity, and well-being.
- Communicate concerns or challenges to management and work collaboratively with the team.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
- Participate in training, follow supervisory guidance, and complete other assigned duties as needed.
- A compassionate, patient, and dependable individual who enjoys working with adults with special needs.
- Someone who approaches every resident with flexibility, sensitivity, understanding, and respect.
- The ability to remain calm, firm, and consistent when supporting challenging behaviors.
