SAP Upgrade Sr. Analyst

Overview

The size and complexity of our SAP landscape with 20+ SAP products & 800+ instances, combined with multiple deadlines for patching / versioning & end of life and deep dependencies across strategic programs—make SAP Upgrades a mission‑critical function.

 

Over the next 5+ years, we will have to efficiently run all the large business critical upgrades with 100% efficiency & no disruption to business – factoring in the deeply integrated global landscape.

 

In addition to upgrades we also need to plan for SAP Max Attention services from SAP to ensure our current SAP environments have active SAP support for projects as well as sustain.

 

The SAP Upgrade Sr. Analyst is a key role in the SAP ecosystem who is responsible for managing the end-to-end financials along with the related Power BI tools to drive process excellence and controls.

Responsibilities

Primary

• 'Track budget, actuals, forecasts, and explain financial variances for upgrades and Max Attention• Multiyear financial outlook
• Maintain Max Attention and Upgrade dashboards, KPIs, milestones, and executive reporting packs• Administer tools/workflows supporting Max Attention & Upgrade governance
• Ensure compliance with stage gates and approvals
• Produce analytics and recommendations to improve delivery performance and transparency

Shared

• Partner with Finance and Infrastructure teams to track budgets, forecasts, actuals, and resource utilization across Max Attention & Upgrade programs
• Partner with Testing, Functional/DSO, and Product Owners to publish KPI dashboards, milestone status, and readiness metrics
• Partner with Delivery Leads and leadership teams to provide analytics, executive reporting, and data-driven recommendations for decisions
• Partner with the tools team to develop Power BI Apps to automate tracking and reporting process

Decision Rights

• Decide reporting baselines, KPI definitions, and governance measures used across the upgrade portfolio
• Recommend corrective actions when budget variance, milestone slippage, or control gaps are identified
• Decide data quality standards and approval checkpoints for status reporting and executive dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in PMO, program controls, financial analysis, or portfolio governance roles.
• Experience supporting large IT or SAP programs with dashboards, KPIs, milestone tracking, and executive reporting
• Strong capability in budget management, forecasting, variance analysis, and resource tracking.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and ability to turn data into actionable insights for leadership
