Team Leader - Commercial Employer Market Account Team Support - Express Scripts

The Team Leader will function in a player/coach role, owning individual work in an Associate Account Manager capacity in addition to leading a team of Associate Account Managers/Sales Coordinators on the Account Care Team in support of the Express Scripts Commercial Division. The Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that direct reports meet client and Client Service Team (CST) partners needs as outlined in team roles and responsibilities. The Lead will coach and ensure training of their direct reports, support escalations when necessary, engage cross-functional partners for solutions, be the process SME for the team- provides direction and guidance regarding policies, procedures, and workflows. Responsible for monitoring team performance and output through reporting.

 

Essential Functions

• Maintain a book of business/group mailbox to support client issue resolution, reporting needs, access requests and other tactical tasks supporting aligned clients and Client Service Team (CST) partners
• Act as a single point of contact for facilitating resolution for cross-functional operational issues, ensuring projects are effectively implemented to meet business need and minimize operational risk & disruption.
• Demonstrate leadership, coaching skills: effectively develop, train, and guide less experienced team members to improved performance
• Serve as team coach and SME for internal process/procedure inquiries for direct reports and Client Service Team (CST) partners
• Support team with day to day operational, system, process questions and issues.
• Support inquiries and escalations as presented directly from the team, clients, and other internal teams.
• Balance priorities to achieve divisional and team objectives
• Monitor resources and communications proactively to identify areas where the team can offer support to CST partners
• Identify common issues, constraints and drive process improvements across the team
• Be adaptable to take on new projects and tasks
• Monitor team performance and provide detailed reporting
• Ensure team playbooks/training materials and resources are maintained and updated on a regular basis
• Embrace emerging AI technologies and continuously identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven solutions into daily work processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall business outcomes.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 11 to 14 years of experience
• 2+ years of equivalent client support /associate account manager or account management experience, preferably within ESI
• Previous team leadership/coaching experience preferred

• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments to completion and meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and ability to professionally interface with others at all levels
• Ability to delegate work to staff
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems, and make decisions with minimal supervision. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft office tools

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 88,700 - 147,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
