Job Overview
The Wood Moulder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining wood moulding equipment to produce high-quality wood products according to company specifications and production schedules. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, machine efficiency, and workplace safety.
Highlights of your role
- Set up and operate wood moulder machinery in accordance with production requirements.
- Verify material specifications and ensure correct wood species and dimensions are used.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain production records and document completed work orders.
- Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading of lumber as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies.
- Keep work area organized and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or woodworking experience preferred.
- Experience operating wood moulders or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read tape measures, production specifications, and work orders.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
