Programme Overview

Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate internship offers the opportunity to support real estate transactions across the UK, Ireland and core European markets. The programme introduces you to underwriting, market analysis and client coverage within a collaborative and professional environment.

During this ten-week programme, you will support the underwriting of real estate transactions and develop your understanding of market fundamentals and borrower balance sheets. You will contribute to client preparation, research and analysis, and gain exposure to how teams identify and evaluate financing opportunities.

Summer Analyst Programme 2027

The programme duration is 10 weeks starting in late June 2027 and is designed to provide you with the unique opportunity to discover our CIB business, culture, and how we collaborate to deliver solutions for our clients. The programme offers organised activities such as classroom training and networking opportunities to boost your professional development.

Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) Overview

The Wells Fargo CRE division sits within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB).  CRE has an established record of consistent strong performance and has a leading market share in the US commercial real estate market.  The EMEA team uses innovative and often complex debt structures to support investors in the UK, Ireland and core European markets.  The lending mandate is broad with the teams focusing across the core sectors including office, retail, industrial/logistics, data centres as well as operational assets such as PRS/BTR and purpose-built student accommodation. Our client base covers all key global market participants, including institutional fund managers, private equity and sovereign wealth funds and large private property companies.

During the CRE Internship, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting valuation models for real estate properties and sectors
  • Assisting with financial and credit analyses, presentations, and projects
  • Conducting property and industry research
  • Participating in due diligence and client meetings
  • Networking with senior professionals across cross-functional partners
  • Supporting client relationship development

Required

  • Penultimate year undergraduate with an expected graduation date of June 2028
  • Demonstrable interest in finance through work experience or extra-curricular achievement
  • A record of academic excellence
  • Fluent in English

Desired

  • Knowledge of an additional European language would be beneficial due to the international nature of our EMEA business and client relationships
  • An engaging and collaborative approach, with the ability to remain organised, adaptable and attentive to detail
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to quickly evaluate and solve analytical problems, with a basic understanding of mathematical principles
  • Sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
