School Registered Nurse (RN)

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential health support across three elementary and middle school sites, helping students stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn throughout the school year in Downey, CA.
 
Position Overview 

• Provide school-based nursing care across three school campuses, responding to student health needs, injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies.
• Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and administer routine and emergency medications for students with chronic health conditions.
• Conduct health screenings, maintain student health and immunization records, and support communicable disease prevention and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with families, educators, school leadership, and healthcare providers to support student health, safety, and access to education.

Qualifications 

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Experience providing care to elementary and/or middle school students, including managing chronic conditions, medications, and urgent health needs, is preferred
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt quickly and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced school environment
