Description

As an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll provide operational, analytical, and transactional support to our Transaction Liability underwriting team, supporting the end-to-end underwriting process from submission through to policy binding.

About the role

CFC’s Transaction Liability team underwrites a broad range of risks connected to mergers and acquisitions, including Representations & Warranties (R&W / W&I) insurance, as well as contingent liability and tax insurance, with a focus on North America.

Day to day, your role will be:

  • Liaising with external legal counsel as required
  • Developing relationships with M&A insurance brokers, lawyers, private equity firms, deal principals and internal CFC colleagues as required

About you

We’re ideally looking for:
  • Experience in insurance, underwriting support, legal services, finance, or a related professional services environment
  • Strong attention to detail and good document-handling skills
  • Confidence working with data, systems, and Excel-based reporting
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks
