Bath Fitter is looking for an Electromechanical Design Specialist to support our manufacturing operations at our TN Plant.
This isn't a desk-only engineering role—and it's more than traditional maintenance. You'll combine electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, CAD design, fabrication, automation, equipment improvement, and engineering project support to keep manufacturing running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Work with PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and industrial controls
- Troubleshoot and work with 260V and 480V electrical systems
- Create and modify CAD drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Design, modify, lay out, and fabricate equipment components and fixtures
- Perform MIG and stick welding as needed
- Analyzing equipment failures and performing root-cause analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency
- Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with automation and controls projects
- Support installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of equipment
- Develop maintenance procedures and technical standards
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians
- Support machine safety and risk-assessment activities
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Production to solve problems and improve processes
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys figuring things out, building solutions, and improving how equipment works.
- Associate degree preferred, but not required
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting experience
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and systems
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Ability to create and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and industrial controls
- Knowledge of 260V and 480V circuits
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Hands-on fabrication and equipment modification experience
- 2+ years of MIG and stick welding experience
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred: Lean manufacturing, industrial automation, technical certification/apprenticeship, military technical training, or project management experience.
