Summary:

Performs a variety of cleaning, sanitation, and support duties within a hospital kitchen and cafeteria environment. Responsibilities include collecting meal trays from designated utility areas, cleaning and organizing meal carts, operating dishwashing equipment, washing pots and utensils, and ensuring all clean items are properly stored in assigned work areas. Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness throughout the department by disposing of trash, sweeping, mopping, and adhering to sanitation standards. Assists with the delivery of meal trays and food services to customers while ensuring quality, safety, and infection control standards are consistently met. Responsibilities:

• Dishwashing duties include retrieving trays from dirty utility room, cleaning off meal carts, sending dirty dishes through dish machine, washing pots, placing clean dishes in designated work area.

• Janitorial duties include throwing trash, sweeping and mopping.

• Participate in delivery of food services tray to customers, while maintaining quality and sanitation standards as needed

• Participates in assembly and delivery of patient/customer meals in accordance with established criteria and procedures.

• Supports the organizations visions, values and strategies.

• Maintains and supports sanitation standards as required by department policy and regulatory agencies.

• Operates and maintains equipment commensurate with job assignment.

• Ensures quality guidelines are maintained as they pertain to the area assigned.

• Maintains department records, reports and files as required.

• Participates in educational meetings/in-services.

• Other duties as assigned.
