Job Description:

The Concentrates Coordinator role serves as a key operational interface between commercial teams, logistics providers, warehouses, surveyors, customers, and other stakeholders across the concentrates supply chain.

The position is responsible for coordinating field operations related to mineral concentrates, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, blending, inventory management, and shipment of material from origin through to final delivery. The role requires strong operational oversight of concentrate stockpiles, blending activities, transportation arrangements, export processes, and the execution of bulk and containerized shipments.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on operational professional with extensive experience in concentrates logistics and warehouse operations, capable of ensuring operational excellence while maintaining accurate inventory controls, regulatory compliance, and effective stakeholder management across multiple locations.

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting the expansion of Gunvor's metals platform in South America and to work closely with both regional and international commercial and operations teams.

Main Responsibilities

Operations & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day concentrates field operations across warehouses, blending facilities, storage locations, ports, and customer delivery points.

  • Ensure the smooth execution of the physical supply chain from receipt of concentrates through storage, blending, dispatch, and final shipment.

  • Monitor operational activities to ensure shipments are executed in accordance with contractual requirements, operational instructions, and company standards.

  • Liaise with freight providers, trucking companies, shipping agents, terminal operators, and warehouse operators to ensure cargo movements are executed efficiently and safely.

  • Support the planning and execution of both bulk vessel and containerized concentrate shipments.

  • Update Gunvor in a timely manner.

Inventory Management & Stock Control

  • Supervise and verify concentrate receipts, stockpile integrity, and inventory movements at warehouses and operational sites.

  • Validate weight certificates, stock reconciliations, inventory reports, and survey data.

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate recording of all material movements within internal systems.

  • Identify and escalate inventory discrepancies, operational risks, quality concerns, or stock losses.

  • Assist in conducting stock inspections, reconciliations, and periodic inventory audits.

  • Update Gunvor systems accurately.

Blending Operations

  • Coordinate concentrate blending activities according to commercial requirements and product specifications.

  • Monitor blending processes to ensure operational accuracy and compliance with approved blending instructions.

  • Collaborate with surveyors, warehouse personnel, and commercial teams to verify blend quality and stock availability.

  • Maintain records of blending operations, volumes, and resulting product characteristics.

  • Cooridnate with Senior Ops and Risk officers to accurately represent blending position in system.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a primary operational contact between Gunvor's commercial and operations teams and local service providers.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with warehouses, surveyors, customs brokers, transportation providers, port operators, and customers.

  • Represent Gunvor at operational sites, warehouses, blending facilities, and customer locations as required.

  • Provide timely operational updates to traders, operators, logistics teams, and management regarding shipment status, inventory positions, data extraction from system and operational issues.

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure operational activities comply with applicable customs, transportation, environmental, health and safety, and industry regulations.

  • Coordinate required documentation for exports, imports, transportation, and cargo handling activities.

  • Support environmental reporting obligations and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements when applicable.

  • Promote adherence to company policies, operational controls, and industry best practices.

Reporting & Systems Management

  • Prepare operational reports covering inventory positions, warehouse activities, blending operations, cargo movements, and shipment status.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely system updates related to stock movements, receipts, dispatches, and shipments.

  • Support operational analysis and provide information required by commercial and management teams for decision-making.

  • Assist in identifying operational efficiencies and process improvements across the concentrates supply chain.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Techicnally strong profiles could also be considered.

  • Relevant professional certifications in logistics, shipping, supply chain management, or customs operations are advantageous.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in concentrates, mining logistics, bulk commodities, concs/metals trading operations, warehouse management, or related supply chain activities.

  • Proven experience coordinating logistics and field operations within the mining or metals sector.

  • Experience managing warehouse inventories, concentrate stockpiles, and cargo movements.

  • Exposure to export/import operations and customs procedures within South America.

  • Experience working with surveyors, terminals, warehouses, shipping agents, and transport providers.

  • Knowledge of blending, cargo shipment procedures (bulk and containers), customs exportation/importation procedures, environmental reporting when necessary, policies & industry standards, shipment regulations and maritime technical terminology, as well as relevant regional transport rules and the impact on cargo movement operations.

  • Strong understanding of mineral concentrates operations, storage, and handling.

  • Practical experience with concentrate blending operations and inventory management.

  • Knowledge of bulk and containerized cargo shipping procedures.

  • Understanding of international trade logistics, customs procedures, and export/import requirements.

  • Familiarity with maritime terminology, shipping documentation, and port operations.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics networks across South America.

  • Understanding of industry standards related to minerals handling, storage, transportation, and survey practices.

  • English - Required but will consider candidates with strong relative experience whose English is sufficient for business purporses. Spanish – Mandatory Fluency/Native speaker
