JOB TITLE: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Supply Chain
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Non-Exempt, hourly
PURPOSE: The Shipping Logistics Coordinator must have working knowledge of all distribution activities, production planning, and possess customer service skills associated with fulfilling shipping work instructions and maintain accurate records. This position will perform a multitude of clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping, distribution, and warehouse activities.
AREA OF PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY: Warehouse shipping logistics in all HVO warehouses.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge of shipping procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with various levels of management.
- Possess good communication skills and react well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Maintain necessary supplies needed for office.
- Develop and achieve annual goals as they relate to personal and professional growth.
MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS / PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Must be aware and comply with HVO safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license and be approved by HVO's insurance carrier.
- Ability to relate and respect persons with disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform computer functions associated with shipping logistics with willingness to learn new applications as required.
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Forklift certification or able to be certified.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Appropriately pushing, pulling and twisting boxes on pallets in preparation for final shipping.
- Requires motor skills with hands & feet including twisting while seated on forklift to visually scan area as product is being moved.
- Ability to operate multiple levers, steering wheels, etc. for forklift/picker operation.
- Walking on concrete floor in excess of 1.5 miles per day.
