About the Client & Niche 

Our client is a fast-growing US-based consumer brand in the travel collectibles & physical merchandise industry. They create high-quality, tangible keepsakes—such as metal tokens, keychains, pins, and souvenirs—inspired by destinations around the world, national parks, and official sports leagues.

Please note: This is not a UX/UI, digital graphic design, or software product design role. We are specifically looking for an illustrator and physical product designer with experience in manufactured hard goods.

 

About the Role

You’ll work directly with the company’s CEO and Lead Designer to create beautiful, production-ready collectible products and retail packaging.

This is a full-time, long-term remote opportunity for someone who combines exceptional illustration skills with a solid understanding of physical manufacturing processes.

 

What You'll Do

• Create original illustrations for collectible physical products.

• Design new products for our expanding collection of metal tokens, keychains, and other merchandise.

• Design retail packaging and in-store display materials for our retail partners.

• Prepare production-ready artwork and technical files for manufacturing.

• Design with manufacturing constraints in mind, including materials, finishes, production limitations, and quality standards.

• Collaborate closely with our product development team to refine designs throughout the manufacturing process.

• Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and manufacturing partners to ensure products meet both creative and production requirements.

 

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Exceptional illustration skills with a strong artistic portfolio.

• Professional experience designing manufactured physical products.

• Portfolio showcasing real physical products that have been produced (not just digital mockups).

• Experience designing products such as:

• Enamel pins

• Metal collectibles

• Coins or medallions

• Keychains

• Souvenirs

• Other collectible merchandise

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production constraints, and preparing artwork for production.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.

Tools & Technical Skills

• Software: Adobe Illustrator (advanced/expert level required), Adobe Photoshop, and Procreate.

• 3D & CAD (Bonus): Basic knowledge of 3D rendering or CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Fusion 360) is a plus.

• Production Prep: Experience preparing production-ready files (Pantone color matching, cut lines, technical spec sheets for factories).

• Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with metal/merchandise manufacturing processes (e.g., soft/hard enamel, zinc alloy die-casting, metal plating).

Nice to Have

• Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers or production partners.

• Experience creating retail packaging or point-of-sale displays.

• Experience designing within an established consumer brand.

• Experience with collectible products, travel merchandise, toys, or similar industries.

 

Portfolio Requirements

Your portfolio must demonstrate:

• Outstanding original illustration work.

• Manufactured physical products that have been brought to market.

• Production-ready artwork and technical specs.

Applications without a relevant portfolio focused on manufactured physical products will not be considered.

 

Schedule, Location and Payment

• Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), long-term contract.

• Location: 100% Remote (LATAM).

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, requiring 4 to 5 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific Time (PT).

• Competitive payment in USD.
