Description
We have a great opportunity to join the ING Wonen / Secured Funding Control team as a Data and Reporting Specialist.
At ING Wonen we provide customers with the means to finance the purchase of their family home, and we help manage their living needs afterwards. We do this at scale: ING’s mortgage business is one of the largest lenders in the Netherlands. Besides the opportunity to have a profound impact on our customers’ lives, ING Wonen also provides a robust asset-base that is applied by ING to attract secured funding through e.g. Covered Bonds and Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS). Through maintaining a strong and well-controlled asset-base, ING Wonen directly contributes to ensuring that customers’ interest rates are kept at competitively low levels, whilst also providing access to investment products for ING’s institutional investor base.
As Data & Reporting Expert at Secured Funding Control you join a small team of experts (5 members; m/f=3/2) responsible for the life-cycle management of ING’s Dutch mortgage-backed funding transactions. This team closely collaborates with ING Group Treasury on the issuance, maintenance and reporting for various funding programs. This involves, amongst other activities, pool management, investor reporting, analyzing portfolio data and guiding (external) audits.
What we are looking for
You have at least three to five years of experience in a reporting function, e.g. in Finance or Risk Management.
A background in the mortgages domain is a prerequisite, with proven experience with and a decent understanding of various policies and procedures as well as the underlying data landscape and source system (Hypos; STATER would be a plus).
Hands-on experience with data analysis applications such as SAS EG is a big plus. You have at least basic programming skills in, for example, SQL or SAS.
Prior experience with our main software application PRoMMiSe would be a plus.
You have a proven track record in flawless reporting and a natural attitude to dive into & analyze identified exceptions.
You enjoy participating in our monthly / quarterly reporting cycle, which takes about 40-50% of your time. You are able to prioritize the other part across topics such as improving processes, testing software releases, investigations, innovation and special projects (which could even include small projects at other parts of the ING Wonen tribe).
With your keen eye for data-driven opportunities, you help drive the improvement of our portfolio control landscape towards more automated reporting and data-driven monitoring.
You like to explore the data in ING Wonen’s mortgage portfolio and look for opportunities improving the efficient use of that portfolio for funding transactions.
You feel responsible for the risks in your processes and assist your team to monitor and manage these risks in accordance with ING’s risk appetite and procedures.
You are able to connect across various domains and stakeholders next to Group Treasury (like e.g. colleagues from ING Wonen, CRM, Collections, Safe Business and Data Management).
A decent mastery of the English and Dutch languages (B2/C1: written and in speech).
How to succeed
A great Data & Reporting Expert of the Secured Funding Control team has or is willing to gain in-depth knowledge of Dutch mortgage loans and asset-backed financing, combined with existing knowledge about mortgage data and reporting processes.
You are self-starting, and a critical thinker.
You take or prepare decisions based on data.
If you identify a potential weakness in a process, you speak up, and help to drive the process towards improvement.
You can connect, forge professional relationships, and communicate with colleagues from a diverse background, ranging from tech-savvy Data Analysts and auditors to Treasury Experts and Risk Officers.
In your work you are meticulous and diligent: you can analyze complex problems and identify the key elements and process risks.
You bring structure and insights for both for activities you take on yourself and for work which depends on colleagues with whom you work together.
