Video Content Intern:
The Office of Undergraduate Admission is seeking a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate to serve as the Video Content Intern. The Video Content Intern will be the primary student video content creator for the Office of Admission YouTube channel and visitor spaces. The student employee will capture and edit story-driven video content, recruit other students to film or participate in video projects, attend and capture footage of campus events, and brainstorm ideas and strategy with the admission video team. The videos will be aimed at prospective students and their families, highlighting academics and student life at the University of Richmond through a more casual lens.
Although there is no set number of hours required for this position, students can anticipate to work between 4-8 hours per week, depending on their assigned projects and schedule availability. Interviews will be conducted over Zoom and applicants will be asked to provide a sample of their work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Film and edit engaging and authentic video content that highlights student life and academics on campus
Attend weekly meetings with members of the admission video team
Recruit and collaborate with fellow students to film day in the life content, campus events, and other short-form videos
Upload content to YouTube and caption videos
Assist with creation and maintenance of the video content calendar
Uphold best practices for filming and editing and remain up to date on current social media video trends
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency with filming (smartphone or camera) and video editing
Experience with and/or desire to learn software programs, equipment, or tools necessary to perform job
Strong knowledge of campus programs, offerings, and events
Ability to innovate and think creatively
Awareness of current trends, best practices, and other video content strategies
Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty of all backgrounds and experiences
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strict attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with a team
Comfortable with working in outdoor settings and traveling off-campus for certain projects (transportation can be provided), when needed
Pay Grade:
SP Student 3, starting at $14.45
