Description

RV Sales Manager

Our Client:
Our client is a successful, family owned RV dealership group that has spent decades building a trusted name in the markets it serves. The company pairs a strong regional presence and respected product offering with an approachable, customer focused culture rooted in honesty and integrity. Its leadership team remains actively engaged in the business and places a high value on strong relationships, consistent execution, and long term success. The organization is equally committed to continuous improvement and evolution, fostering a coaching oriented environment where employees are supported in developing their capabilities and growing within the business. With established operations, a loyal customer base, and meaningful opportunity ahead, the company provides a stable platform for accomplished dealership professionals to make an impact and continue advancing their careers.

The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead the day to day performance of its RV sales department. This is a highly visible, hands on leadership role for someone who can coach and develop a sales team, reinforce consistent processes, and create a culture of accountability without losing sight of the customer experience. The Sales Manager will work closely with dealership leadership to establish expectations, manage activity, support deal development, and improve individual and departmental results. The ideal candidate will bring sound judgment, a strong command of dealership sales operations, and the ability to identify opportunities, address performance gaps, and help both established and developing sales professionals reach a higher level. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key department within a stable, respected organization that values continuous improvement and supports leaders who can positively influence people, performance, and profitability.

Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary, with lucrative variable earning potential
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401K with company match
  • Relocation assistance for the right candidate
  • PTO: vacation and sick time, accruement increasing over time
  • Strong team atmosphere in a privately owned dealership group
  • Excellent leadership throughout the organization

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day to day operations and performance of the sales department while remaining consistently present, visible, and engaged on the sales floor.
  • Serve as a hands on leader who actively supports customer interactions, assists with negotiations, helps overcome objections, and works alongside the sales team to bring deals to a successful close.
  • Coach, train, motivate, and develop sales professionals through regular observation, direct feedback, individual coaching, and structured performance discussions.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for activity, follow up, customer engagement, CRM usage, closing performance, and overall results.
  • Ensure established sales processes are consistently followed, reinforcing company standards and addressing deviations promptly and constructively.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, individual coaching sessions, performance reviews, and ongoing training to strengthen product knowledge, selling skills, process execution, and professional development.
  • Monitor lead activity, appointment setting, showroom traffic, conversion rates, closing ratios, and sales productivity to ensure every opportunity is managed effectively.
  • Work directly with sales professionals to structure deals, evaluate trades, support negotiations, and maintain an appropriate balance between customer value, gross profit, and closing the sale.
  • Provide F&I coverage as needed, accurately completing transactions, presenting available products, maintaining compliance, and ensuring customers receive a professional and transparent experience.
  • Manage sales department P&L performance, including revenue, gross profit, expenses, and other key financial indicators.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, gross profit, and performance objectives.
  • Review business data, sales statistics, market conditions, and competitor performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
  • Prepare and communicate accurate forecasts, performance reports, and actionable insights to ownership and regional sales leadership.
  • Partner with ownership and regional sales leadership to make informed, data backed decisions related to pricing, promotions, staffing, departmental strategy, and changing market conditions.
  • Assist ownership and regional sales leadership with inventory planning and management by providing insight into customer demand, product movement, aging inventory, pricing, and local market trends.
  • Ensure inventory is properly presented, accurately priced, understood by the sales team, and effectively promoted to prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with finance, service, parts, and administrative teams to support an efficient and consistent customer experience from initial contact through delivery.
  • Promote a professional, customer focused sales environment built on transparency, responsiveness, accountability, and long term relationship development.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, working toward resolutions that protect both the customer relationship and the dealership.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of qualified sales professionals as departmental needs evolve.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of available products, pricing, manufacturer programs, financing options, competitive offerings, and relevant market activity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, documentation requirements, and ethical sales practices.
  • Serve as a trusted link between the sales team, ownership, and regional leadership, clearly communicating departmental needs, challenges, progress, and opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • 3–5+ years of successful sales management or sales leadership experience within a dealership environment required.
  • RV dealership sales experience strongly preferred, with a solid understanding of the customer journey, product categories, seasonal demand, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to recruit, onboard, train, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of sales professionals while building a positive, performance focused culture.
  • Hands on leadership style with the willingness and ability to remain actively engaged on the sales floor, support customer interactions, structure deals, overcome objections, and assist in closing sales.
  • Demonstrated success implementing, reinforcing, and enforcing structured sales processes across lead management, follow up, customer engagement, negotiation, and closing.
  • Experience managing sales department P&L performance, including revenue, gross profit, expenses, forecasting, and the achievement of established financial objectives.
  • Strong working knowledge of dealership F&I processes, products, documentation, and compliance, with the ability to provide effective coverage when needed.
  • Experience supporting inventory planning and management through analysis of customer demand, product movement, aging inventory, pricing, and local market conditions.
  • Ability to interpret business data, dealership reports, sales statistics, market trends, and competitor performance and translate that information into actionable strategies and data backed recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating with ownership or senior leadership on inventory, pricing, promotions, staffing, departmental strategy, and broader business decisions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the disciplined and consistent use of CRM and DMS platforms to manage leads, document customer activity, monitor follow up, maintain accurate deal information, evaluate team performance, and support reliable business reporting and forecasting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem solving skills, with the ability to engage customers, employees, ownership, and regional leadership effectively.
  • Professional and polished presentation, with the judgment, composure, and credibility necessary to represent the dealership and lead by example.
  • Customer focused mindset with a commitment to transparency, ethical business practices, and long term relationship development.
  • Self motivated, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast paced, results driven dealership environment.
