GFT is seeking a Project Manager, Utility Coordinator to join Transportation Practice in North Carolina! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring partial attendance at our Wilmington, NC office.

What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Project Manager, Utility Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to expand your career by taking on new challenges and managing various transportation projects, federal, state and local. Your role will involve leading various projects, enhance processes, and collaborating with peers, stakeholders, and senior-level professionals to ensure seamless project execution and prepare for future leadership positions.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
- Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel to foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure a high level of technical quality on the projects through complex problem-solving and innovative solutions.
- Mentor and provide leadership training to project staff to support their professional growth and skill advancement.
What you will bring to our firm:
- 8 years of experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in project teamwork
- Experience on NCDOT and Municipal projects is preferred.
- A history of partnering with various utility owners and companies
- Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
- Technical excellence in civil & highway design.
- Familiarity with contract documents.
- Demonstrated experience in successful project execution.
- A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control and construction administration
