Job Description:
The BIM Manager / Digital Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end digital delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects across infrastructure, transit, healthcare, commercial and residential developments. This role defines, implements and enforces BIM processes and workflows in line with global standards, ensuring that Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) are fully met and that coordinated, clash‑free federated models are delivered to support design coordination and reduce site issues.
The BIM Manager will act as the central point of contact for all BIM and digital delivery matters, driving integration of BIM into project delivery and operations, and providing strategic input to bids, tenders and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Governance & Standards
- Develop, implement and maintain BIM and digital delivery strategies aligned with company and client objectives.
- Define BIM processes, workflows and information management procedures in strict compliance with ISO 19650ISO\ 19650ISO 19650, BS 1192BS\ 1192BS 1192 and other applicable standards.
- Translate Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) into clear BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Model Production and Delivery Tables (MPDT) and project‑specific protocols.
- Establish, document and enforce modelling standards, templates, naming conventions and data structures across disciplines and projects.
- Set up and manage project BIM environments, including file structures, model federation strategies and coordination procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and updating standards, guidelines and best practices.
Project Delivery & Coordination
- Oversee digital delivery on large, complex programmes (e.g. rail systems, light rail transit, metro, roads and bridges, utilities, hospitals, commercial and residential developments).
- Lead the creation and management of coordinated, clash‑free federated BIM models for all phases: Concept, Preliminary, Detailed Design and IFC.
- Organise and run model coordination and clash detection sessions using tools such as Autodesk Navisworks Autodesk\ Navisworks Autodesk Navisworks and other coordination platforms.
- Ensure all models and outputs are compliant with project BIM standards, client requirements and information delivery milestones.
- Interface closely with project managers, discipline leads and design teams to integrate BIM into design reviews, design assurance and technical submissions.
- Support design optimisation, constructability reviews and reduction of site issues through robust digital coordination.
- Provide BIM leadership during both delivery and operational phases, supporting asset information modelling and handover requirements.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as primary point of contact for all BIM‑related queries, both internally and externally (clients, contractors, consultants and third parties).
- Represent the organisation in BIM/digital delivery meetings, workshops and reviews with clients and partners.
- Coordinate onshore and offshore BIM teams, ensuring consistent quality, aligned processes and efficient collaborative workflows across multiple locations.
- Collaborate with GIS specialists to support GIS–BIM integration, enabling geospatially coordinated models and data‑driven decision making.
- Support client engagement by explaining BIM strategies, information requirements, digital deliverables and value propositions.
Bids, Tenders & Business Support
- Provide BIM and digital delivery input into bids and tenders, including methodology, resource planning, software requirements and fee estimates.
- Develop bid‑stage BIM strategies, delivery plans and high‑level model scopes that respond to tender documentation and EIRs.
- Support the business in communicating digital capability, case studies and lessons learned to enhance win rates and client confidence.
Quality Assurance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain QA/QC processes for models and digital deliverables, including regular model audits and data checks.
- Implement model review/checking procedures to ensure compliance with BIM standards, client requirements and statutory regulations.
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to information management, data integrity, version control and model coordination.
- Ensure accurate and timely information exchanges via common data environments (CDEs) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud Autodesk\ Construction\ Cloud Autodesk Construction Cloud, Oracle Aconex Oracle\ Aconex Oracle Aconex, ProjectWiseProjectWiseProjectWise and other platforms.
Training, Mentoring & Team Development
- Assess BIM and digital delivery training needs for project and office teams.
- Plan, develop and deliver training sessions on BIM tools, standards and workflows (e.g. Autodesk RevitAutodesk\ RevitAutodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3DAutodesk\ Civil\ 3DAutodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorksInfraWorksInfraWorks, NavisworksNavisworksNavisworks, CDE usage).
- Mentor and support BIM coordinators, modellers and engineers to build internal capability and promote best practice.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and digital excellence across multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field; a Bachelor of Architecture is highly preferred.
- Professional certification in Project Management such as PMP®PMP®PMPR◯ from the Project Management Institute.
- Advanced qualification in BIM / Digital Delivery, such as a Master’s in Global BIM Management (Civil & GIS) or equivalent.
Experience
- Approx. 10+ years of dedicated BIM management / digital delivery experience within the AEC industry.
- Demonstrable experience leading BIM on large, complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure and rail systems projects (e.g. metro, light rail, high‑speed rail, rail systems, roads, bridges and utilities).
- Experience delivering international projects across multiple regions (e.g. Middle East, South East Asia, Europe, North America) is highly advantageous.
- Proven success in managing distributed BIM teams (onshore/offshore) and coordinating across multiple offices and time zones.
- Track record of implementing BIM standards, templates and workflows and supervising QA/QC for models and documentation.
