Description
Our client, an A-Rated Insurance Carrier, continues to expand its E&S Casualty business and is seeking to add a Senior E&S Casualty Claims Examiner to its team. This individual will be responsible for managing a caseload of mid-to-complex Commercial General Liability, Umbrella, and Excess claims throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong technical E&S casualty claims experience and the ability to independently investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex claims and litigation. This position can be either remote or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mid-to-complex E&S Casualty claims from initial assignment through resolution, including Commercial General Liability, Umbrella, Excess Liability, and other specialty casualty losses.
- Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and overall claim exposure to develop appropriate resolution strategies.
- Analyze policy language, endorsements, exclusions, underlying coverage, and other relevant documentation to identify potential coverage issues.
- Establish and maintain appropriate reserves based on claim exposure and developments throughout the life of the file.
- Manage litigated claims in collaboration with defense counsel, including litigation strategy, legal budgets, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Negotiate and resolve claims within assigned settlement authority while ensuring timely and accurate claim handling.
Qualifications & Experience

5 - 7+ years of E&S Casualty claims handling experience.
- Prior Insurance Carrier claims experience required.
- Strong experience handling complex Commercial General Liability, Umbrella, and/or Excess Liability claims.
- Experience managing litigated and high-exposure casualty claims.
- Active Adjuster License required.
- Excellent analytical, investigation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with insureds, attorneys, brokers, and internal business partners.
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred but not required.
Salary & Benefits
- $140,000–$160,000+ base salary, depending on experience
