## This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking a resourceful, creative, and driven Studio Resource Manager to sit at the center of the WoW Studios ecosystem.
This role is onsite at our WoW Studios Chicago or Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor.
This role will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Operations. You will collaborate with over 100 stakeholders across production, creative, and strategy to ensure the right talent is assigned to the right work at the right time. By proactively forecasting resource needs and evaluating each person's capacity and skill set, you will serve as the hub for talent allocation, executing a data-driven resourcing model that confidently matches specialized skills to project demand. By providing thought leadership, advice, and direction in your subject matter, you will balance workloads and set the entire studio up to deliver their best work, achieving results primarily through your individual expertise and by empowering project teams.
## Your responsibilities will include
- Forecast capacity needs by leveraging annual scope forecasts and project demand data, identifying resource gaps before they impact the work.
- Prioritize project intake, coordinate work, and set priorities by aligning resource planning with broader business goals, actively facilitating conflict resolution discussions when resource constraints arise.
- Allocate talent across multiple brands and teams (including project management, creative, and production) efficiently based on skills, availability, and priority, acting independently where minimum direction is needed.
- Analyze planned work allocation data to proactively rebalance upcoming workloads, solving complex problems and providing new perspectives and solutions to ensure teams are not above or below capacity targets.
- Drive process optimization by providing thought leadership, advice, and direction to develop and iterate on standardized frameworks for resource requests, project handoffs, and initiative tracking.
- Monitor timesheet completion and deliver detailed utilization reporting to ensure accurate workforce data and provide people leaders with an accurate view of the resource landscape.
- Track team paid time off (PTO) to build accurate capacity models and identify coverage plans for absences and leaves.
- Coordinate external support as the primary point of contact for creative and strategy freelancers, understanding relevant internal and external practices to manage seamless onboarding, offboarding, and utilization.
## Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of professional experience, which may include completion of a corporate rotational leadership program or transferable experience across other business functions
## Preferred skills and experiences
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Workfront) with a strong aptitude for quickly learning new workflow systems
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills with a commitment to honest, transparent dialogue; you actively value external input and seek out diverse points of view
- A leadership mindset focused on equipping your team for success, setting a high bar, and coaching and mentoring the team to unleash creative talent across the studio
- A strong learning mindset and curiosity; you are self-critical, adept at setting your own goals to measure progress, and able to accurately evaluate whether your work was successful as you step out of your comfort zone to improve workflows
Compensation: $55,900 -111,800 + Annual Bonus
## What we offer
Generous benefits package, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more! Saint Joseph/Benton Harbor locations: Beautiful, recently renovated office space, free coffee, biking/walking trails, and access to The Eddy - Early Childhood Center (depending upon availability - additional costs required).
