The Franchise Strategy Manager accelerates growth across the North Asia beverage system by combining strategic insight, commercial analytics, and transformation leadership.

This role serves as a strategic thought partner to the GM and a key interface with bottler partners, helping shape business priorities, resolve complex commercial issues, and drive sustainable value creation across the PepsiCo–bottler system.

The role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, commercial acumen, stakeholder influence, and the ability to translate strategy into execution.

 

 

Responsibilities

What you will be responsible for:

 

1.Generate Strategic Insights

  • Leverage commercial, market, consumer, and competitive insights to identify high-impact growth opportunities across categories, brands, channels, customers, and portfolio mix.
  • Translate complex data and analytics into clear, actionable strategic recommendations for the holistic business strategy set up and execution.
  • Develop fact-based perspectives on key business opportunities, risks, and strategic choices.

2. Data & Business Intelligence

  • Own and connect key data sources, including internal shipment sales data, external POS, market share, consumer, and category analytics.
  • Establish a fact base to support strategic decision-making and performance management.
  • Continuously identify new data sources, consumer research data and analytical approaches to improve business understanding and decision quality.

3. Act as a Strategic Thought Partner to the GM & Bottler Leadership

  • Partner closely with the GM and bottler commercial/RGM leadership to diagnose business challenges, shape strategic priorities, and influence decision-making through structured, data-driven insights.
  • Bring an objective PepsiCo perspective while understanding and balancing bottler economics and business priorities.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and develop practical, mutually beneficial solutions to complex business issues.

4. Lead Franchise Governance & Bottler Negotiations

  • Partner closely with the GM to lead the Franchise Governance agenda with bottler partners, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities, business performance, commercial plans, and critical franchise matters.
  • Build trusted relationships with bottler leadership and proactively manage communication, alignment, and negotiation on key franchise agendas.
  • Prepare and lead governance forums, including agenda setting, issue framing, decision making, and follow-up, in close partnership with the GM.
  • Drive resolution of complex or potentially contentious issues by developing fact-based positions, understanding both PepsiCo and bottler economics, and negotiating sustainable outcomes.
  • Identify potential areas of misalignment early and work with the GM and cross-functional teams to proactively address risks and unlock opportunities.
  • Lead and/or coordinate key franchise agreements and governance matters, including Exclusive Bottling Agreement (EBA), Non-Compete Clause Compliance, Business Development Agreement (BDA), Concentrate Supply Agreement (CSA), Concentrate Price Change and other franchise-governance related matters.
  • Ensure strong governance discipline, clear accountability, and timely follow-through on agreed actions and decisions.

5. Innovation Commercialization

  • Build robust business cases and approval memos for new product launches and major commercial initiatives.
  • Develop concentrate pricing recommendations based on PepsiCo and bottler economics (P&L Assumptions).
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with bottler partners to secure alignment, appropriate value sharing, and sustainable profitability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic innovations are translated into commercially viable and executable plans.

6. Lead Cross-Functional Strategic Initiatives

  • Scope and lead high-impact strategic projects across PepsiCo and bottler teams.
  • Mobilize cross-functional expertise across Marketing, Sales, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, Legal, and other functions to solve complex business challenges.
  • Drive projects from problem definition through recommendation, alignment, execution, and measurable business impact.
  • Lead transformation initiatives that strengthen commercial capabilities and the overall PepsiCo–bottler system.

7. Performance Management & Execution

  • Establish strong operating rhythms, performance tracking, and governance mechanisms to ensure disciplined execution against strategic priorities.
  • Monitor key business and commercial KPIs, identify performance gaps, and translate findings into actionable interventions.
  • Enable rapid problem solving and cross-functional alignment to sustain delivery of business results.

8. Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across PepsiCo and bottler organizations, from working-level teams to senior leadership.
  • Effectively navigate complex organizational dynamics and different stakeholder interests.
  • Communicate complex strategic and commercial topics with clarity, conviction, and executive presence.
  • Serve as a bridge between PepsiCo functions and bottler teams to accelerate alignment and execution.

9. Ad-hoc Business Analysis & Strategic Problem Solving

  • Own ad-hoc commercial, consumer, financial, and data analyses to support critical business decisions.
  • Quickly structure ambiguous business questions, develop hypotheses, analyze available data, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Provide timely analytical and strategic support on emerging business issues and opportunities.

10. GM & Strategic Initiative Support

  • Provide flexible, high-priority support to the GM across evolving business needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the GM on critical innovation, commercial, franchise, organizational, and cross-functional priorities.
  • Prepare executive-level materials, recommendations, and decision frameworks for senior leadership discussions and governance forums.
  • Act as a trusted extension of the GM in driving follow-up, alignment, and execution on priority initiatives.

 

 

Qualifications

What you will need to have:

 

  • +10 to 15years of experience in a multinational FMCG environment within Commercial or Strategy functions, NRM or RGM functions, Insight Functions for analytical or Consulting experience with exposure to FMCG.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from a reputable academic institution
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capability with structured problem-solving skills and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear strategic storytelling and high-quality executive presentations
  • Humble, growth-oriented mindset with strong ownership and a win-win solutions-driven attitude
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English, Korean language proficiency preferred. Additional Japanese language proficiency will be an advantage
